AJA HELO Plus H.264 Advanced Streamer & Recorder with 3G-SDI and HDMI

The AJA HELO Plus H.264 Advanced Streamer & Recorder is a compact, self-contained unit with the ability to stream your content to two destinations simultaneously while recording. H.264 recording options include an SD card slot, USB output, and network-based NFS or CIFS storage. Advanced features include a web GUI preview window, the ability to create PiP effects from multiple sources with graphical overlays, group control of multiple HELO Plus and Ki Pro units, and multiple local and remote control options. The HELO Plus H.264 Advanced Streamer comes complete with a power supply.

Portable, self-contained device

The compact, quiet HELO Plus Recorder can be used for live events, sports, education, webcasts, news productions and much more. This standalone device has stream and record buttons on the front of the device and LED video and audio level indicators. The SD card and USB ports are also located on the front of the device for easy access.

Remote or local control

Configure all of the HELO Plus functions remotely via a web browser using your Ethernet connection and your laptop or desktop computer with the ability to control multiple HELO Plus units using a tabbed web browser. Once installed, you can control the HELO Plus using the front panel buttons and audio meters, via the WebUI, or by REST API remote control.

Video and audio support

The HELO Plus supports HD and SD video formats up to 1080p60 with H.264/MPEG-4 encoding and 32-256 kbps, 48 kHz, 2-channel stereo MPEG-4 AAC-LC audio.

SRT support

Support for SRT The open-source SRT video transport protocol optimizes streaming performance over unpredictable networks with secure streams and easy firewall traversal, producing high quality live video over the network. HELO Plus uses SRT (plus encryption) to securely deliver streaming video content with low latency and secure reliability.

Calendar integration

HELO Plus offers a scheduler that triggers pre-scheduled start/stop recording and streaming for AV, live events, houses of worship, webcasting, corporate communications, production, and post projects that require definitive schedules. Scheduling can be programmed locally via the HELO Plus web UI, by importing .ics files, or by connecting to external schedulers such as Google Calendar.

Multi-entrance layouts

Use the HELO Plus to combine multiple SDI and HDMI inputs into a single screen with up to three layers of overlaid graphics. Any live video source can be downscaled for PiP use with internally generated mattes placed over the PiP element. Up to 10 layouts can be saved and recalled in each of 20 presets and over 90 images can be stored internally.

Dual streaming outputs

The HELO Plus uses two encoders for its streaming outputs, providing the flexibility to create different output settings from a single input source. These two encoders can be set to different packaging settings and different output sizes, allowing a single stream of content to be presented in two ways to appeal to a wider audience. A single stream can also be duplicated across both encoders for added resilience. Either of these encoder outputs can also serve as a source for the HELO Plus recording system.
