Dante AV Ultra
Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R: Audinate Partnership
“Dante AV is the complete turnkey 1 GigE networking solution from Audinate that works like AV-over-IP should. It provides the ease-of-use, interoperability, and integrated control experience that customers have come to expect from Dante, with perfect time alignment and independently routable audio and video streams. Dante AV is completely interoperable with over 3000 Dante-enabled audio products that are on the market today for easy, complete system design that brings the full Dante toolset to AV-over-IP.”
Crop/Scale Function
The AJA Dante AV 4K-R now includes a helpful crop and resizing addition. Full 4K (4096x2160) can be cropped to UltraHD, or 2K cropped to HD. UltraHD can be downscaled to HD.
Dante Domain Manager
Dante Domain Manager is an enterprise level Dante AV management platform which manages user access, device security, domain creation and control which functions across networks, and monitors your Dante AV seamlessly over multiple networks. The new API lets you control Dante from touch panels, monitor status and automate workflows.
Audinate’s Dante Domain Manager is available for purchase from valued resellers worldwide.
Dante Controller
Use Dante Controller software on macOS or Windows to set up your video and audio signal routing. Use this application to set up the video and audio routing between Dante devices, including Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R, control the video and audio connections in the Dante setup, and move audio and video in real time over an Ethernet network. Please see the Dante AV 4K Quick Start Guide for more information.
Dante Via
Use Dante Via to configure audio devices to appear on the Dante network; for example, making the audio portion of AJA's Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R appear as separate audio source channels on the Dante network.
Dante Virtual Soundcard
Dante Virtual Soundcard emulates a physical PC or Mac soundcard, but instead of connecting to actual physical audio devices like a mic, it connects to the Dante network. It can receive audio signals from the Dante network, including from Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R, and present them to your DAW app just like a normal physical soundcard would.
Multi-Site, HDR Workflow with House Reference Integration
This workflow shows the deployment of 4K HDR cameras in an offsite location connected via a private network. The HDR video and audio signal is encoded to Dante AV Ultra and sent on the Eth 1 POE+ port while the Eth 2 port in the remote location connects to the Dante Network to oversee production and manage the Dante AV 4K-T settings.
The Dante AV Ultra HDR signal is decoded in the broadcast center and is time aligned by an AJA GEN10 providing house sync to the Dante AV 4K-R receivers, the Ki Pro Ultra 12G being used for video playback, and the UltraHD HDR switcher.
Conference/Education Workflow
Quickly and cost efficiently add high quality video to a 1 GigE network with the added ability to use the RS-422 control to operate a PTZ camera remotely with the Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R transmitters and receivers.
Sports Venue Workflow
The Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R transmitter and receiver offer an efficient and cost-effective way to up your game by enabling adding embedded (up to) 4K video and audio to be sent via a 1 GigE network to the broadcast center. The AJA ColorBox offers in-line color management before the signal reaches the switcher for precise camera color matching and, thus, program color control. The program signal can then be encoded via the AJA BRIDGE LIVE powerhouse transcoding solution and then sent directly to a CDN.
Medium HOW Workflow
Take your Dante audio network to the next level by adding cinema quality Dante AV Ultra to your worship services, all on the 1 GigE Dante audio network. Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R transmitters and receivers have IR send and receive capabilities, providing control integration with other devices as well.
Large Concert Workflow
Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R transmitters and receivers expand your Dante audio live audio concert network to include Dante AV Ultra video. In this example, four 12G-SDI broadcast camera signals are going into the Dante network, and three Dante receivers are feeding the LED screens behind the stage. Scalability and flexibility are hallmarks of Dante AV Ultra. This workflow also demonstrates the KVM functionality of the Dante AV 4K-T and 4K-R transmitters and receivers.
Dante AV 4K-T Zoom Broadcast Workflow
The Dante AV 4K-T is the perfect bridge between a remote Zoom commentator and the production studio. This workflow shows a remote commentator interacting with the studio commentators, with low latency, AV Sync, and the cinematic quality of the Dante AV Ultra codec to add a remote perspective to any broadcast.
Dante AV and Networking
As an IP video product, the Dante AV 4K-T and Dante AV 4K-R need to be connected to a Dante network, either an existing network you might have for working with Dante audio or a new Dante purpose built network for Dante AV Ultra. In either case, for initial setup, the Dante AV 4K-T and AJA Dante AV 4K-R will need to be connected to a customer-supplied Mac or PC with the latest version of Dante Controller software from Audinate which you can find here:
https://www.audinate.com/products/software/dante-controller
Dante AV Ultra requires a managed network switch for operation. For further information on network switches compatible with Dante AV Ultra, please refer to Audinate’s website:

1. VESA Formats are always RGB 4:4:4 60 8-bit
2. Only one input can be used at a time. Unit will auto-detect source, or user can select input in software if both SDI & HDMI inputs are connected.
*If a connected monitor doesn’t support HDMI protocol, the unit automatically switches to DVI protocol (which does not pass audio).
