Epiphan Pearl Nexus

The Epiphan Pearl Nexus Live Video Production System enables you to switch, record, and stream up to three 1920 x 1200 video inputs via HDMI, 3G-SDI, USB-A, and NDI|HX interfaces. The device is designed for professional AV environments for seamless automated video integration with your existing ecosystem. First-party plug-ins integrate seamlessly with Cestron, Q-SYS, or Extron environments. Detachable rack-mount brackets allow you to place the 1 RU device on a desktop.

Connectivity

On the rear panel, the Nexus features HDMI, 3G-SDI (BNC), USB-A, and NDI|HX (RJ45) inputs for connectivity to cameras, players, and computers. Audio inputs are combo jacks with support for XLR and 1/4” TRS microphone connectors, 3.5mm microphone, and stereo RCA line inputs. An HDMI output can be used to monitor any video input or the switched program. A single Ethernet port supports RTSP, SRT, NDI|HX, and browser video. Record to the built-in 1TB internal SSD. Automatically back up your recordings to a USB drive, network attached storage, or Content Management System (CMS).

Effortless automation

Plug-and-play presets switch between event types or transfer settings between Pearl units. Schedule your conferences, live streams or other events for automatic recording or streaming to a destination of your choice. Use Epiphan Edge to control Nexus from anywhere and get real-time streams of inputs and channels in HD. Integration with platforms such as Kaltura, Panopto and YuJa allows you to easily schedule your events or stream directly from Nexus.

Custom Layouts

Arrange your video inputs, images, text, and media into custom layouts and expand your creativity. Pearl supports Singular.Live, Uno, and Flowics integrations for stunning graphics, while also supporting dynamic text for timestamps, GPS, or other data. Add video content to your layouts with animated video backgrounds. Switch between different layouts with the web-based switcher UI. Bring in remote guests for a hybrid event via SRT, Zoom, or Teams platforms.

Secure live streaming and control

PEAP, EAP-TLS and EAP-TTLS authentication access control methods are supported by the Pearl Nexus on 802.1x networks using passwords, usernames and digital certificates. Upload and manage digital certificates via the Admin panel.

Using SRT, Nexus can achieve end-to-end secure streaming with up to 256-bit AES encryption. Encrypt content over TLS/SSL connections with RTMPS or use HLS for streaming over HTTPS.

With support for LDAP authentication, you can define domain name groups to assign users in bulk. They then log in with their LDAP credentials.

Securely access the control panel and configure Nexus over HTTPS connection. Send encrypted recordings from the system to external or onsite SFTP servers via Automatic File Upload.
