Sony PXW-Z200
Record, stream and share 4K HDR
Mobile creators looking for fast autofocus, autoframing, and quick content sharing in a compact package will find what they’re looking for in the Sony PXW-Z200 4K HDR XDCAM 1” sensor camcorder. Equipped with a 1”-type Exmor RS CMOS sensor for up to UHD 4K resolution, AI-assisted autofocus and autoframing, a variable electronic ND filter, BIONZ XR processing, and color matching with Sony Cinema Line cameras, this professional camcorder is suited for high mobility. The camera features an extended 20x optical zoom and built-in dual-band 2.4/5 GHz Wi-Fi and Ethernet for direct streaming via RTMP/RTMPS, SRT protocols, and FTP options. Use the Sony Monitor & Control app to review footage on your smartphone or tablet.
1” Exmor RS CMOS sensor
The PXW-Z200’s 1.0”-type Exmor RS CMOS sensor utilizes a stacked design for optimum image quality, faster readout speeds, and excellent low-light performance. The sensor produces exceptional 4K images with 5K oversampling and full-pixel readout.
Longer 20x optical zoom
Capture images ranging from close-ups to wide-angle shots in cramped interiors with the G-series 20x zoom, equivalent to a 35mm full-frame 24-480mm. Use the Clear Image Zoom function to extend the zoom range to 30x in 4K and 40x in HD.
BIONZ XR processing
The latest BIONZ XR TM image processor delivers higher frame rates, faster autofocus, improved ATW control, and excellent noise reduction. By extracting maximum performance from the high-resolution image sensor, you can capture the subtlest textures and finest details. 5K oversampling with full-pixel readout condenses vast image information into stunning UHD 4K60 video.
Advanced AI-assisted autofocus
The PXW-Z200's AI-powered deep learning enables accurate recognition of human subjects.
With 81% coverage, the Fast Hybrid autofocus system offers enhanced support for both Subject Recognition AF and Real-time Tracking.
Automatic framing
Keep a close eye on your subjects with Auto Framing, which automatically detects human shapes and adjusts the frame to keep your subject centered. Especially useful for solo filmmakers, Auto Framing mimics manual shooting while allowing you to stay focused on your subject.
Flexible frame rates
Record up to UHD 4K60 video and high frame rates up to UHD 4K120 and 1080p HD at 240 fps. Slow motion speeds are 4x at 4K30 and 5x at 4K24p with fast autofocus to keep your subject sharp.
Pro Broadcasts and Film Appearance
Presets for S-Cinetone, ITU709, 709tone, HLG Live, HLG Mild and HLG Natural can be further customized with black, matrix and other adjustments.
The PXW-Z200's content can be color matched with footage from other Sony broadcast and Cinema Line cameras.
12G-SDI connectivity options
The interface of this camcorder includes up to 12G-SDI input and output, timecode input and output, genlock, USB-A, USB-C, LAN, REMOTE and additional connections.
Fully automatic mode
When the action gets too hectic, you can flip a switch to fully automatic mode. Automatic settings include ND, Iris, Gain, Shutter and White Balance.
Built-in variable ND filter
The PXW-Z200 has a variable ND filter function.
Offers a wide 1/4 to 1/128 ND range.
Use it to seamlessly adjust your exposure with the turn of a dial.
Easy file transfer
The PXW-Z200 lets you upload proxy and original clips directly from a memory card to a cloud or FTP server. Files are automatically transferred when each recording stops after the destination server has been registered in the camera. You can even record proxy clips in segments and transfer them sequentially during recording. The optional, paid Creator's Cloud for Enterprise C3 Portal application makes cloud transfers easy and ensures that video files are available for editing and sharing even faster.
Live streaming
Stream directly from the camera with Wi-Fi or via a wired Ethernet connection.
You can stream to compatible platforms using RTMP/RTMPS and SRT protocols.
Advanced white balance
The PXW-Z200's ATW (Auto-Tracing Balance) provides improved performance even in shaded areas.
Advanced image stabilization
Built-in image stabilization minimizes camera shake, giving you the smoothest footage possible. Active Mode stabilization uses both optical and electronic elements to make your handheld footage look as if you were using a gimbal.
OLED viewfinder and 3.5” LCD screen
The PXW-Z200 has an OLED viewfinder and a 3.5” LCD screen to check your shots.
The high-contrast OLED EVF provides a bright 2.36MP image while blocking ambient light.
The LCD screen can be positioned for best viewing and comes with a sunshade.
Recording options
With multiple recording options, you can choose the best solution for every project you’re capturing. Choose XAVC SI for the highest quality, post-friendly 10-bit 4:2:2 4K (QFHD) recording with Intra-Frame H.264. XAVC HS-L (H.265) and XAVC SL (H.264) offer the choice of 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 with Long GOP recording for extended recording times and file-saving efficiency.
XAVC HS enables recording of smaller proxy files (up to 16 Mbps) for previewing and editing.
Dual memory card slots
The PXW-Z200 has dual memory card slots that are compatible with both CFexpress Type A and SD cards.
Wireless remote control and monitoring
Use the built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with the Monitor & Control app.
Check your framing and monitor and adjust camera controls.
4-channel audio
Combine the MI (multi-interface) shoe and XLR connectors to record up to four channels of audio. Audio knobs let you quickly adjust levels for two channels without having to scroll through a menu structure.
Sony Battery Power
Like many other Sony cameras, the PXW-Z200 camcorder uses BP-U35, BP-U70 or BP-U100 packs, so you can use your existing supply of batteries.
