Blackmagic Design Video Hub 80x80 12G
Blackmagic Design Videohub 80x80 12G eliminates cable clutter because you can connect all your SDI equipment to the router and then make connections electronically. You don't need complex system diagrams for your studio, because you can connect any video input to any video output, or even a single video input to multiple video outputs. You get total flexibility to deal with constant changes or even emergencies. You can use multiple HyperDeck recorders for redundant mastering. Or you can route video to multiple streaming processors for all your broadcast platforms. Blackmagic Videohub 12G is also great for adding additional inputs to an ATEM switcher.
The massive 80x80 12G-SDI video router with zero latency simultaneously supports any combination of SD, HD and Ultra HD on the router. Features a control panel, reclocking and remote Ethernet control.
The front panel is similar to a Videohub Master Control Pro and features a rotary dial for scrolling, direct input buttons for speed and an LCD for displaying labels. However, because the panel is built into the router, you can also see live video on the LCD screen. The LCD screen also has menus so you can change router settings.
With a built-in LCD screen, Blackmagic Videohub 12G can show you live video from all your router inputs. This means you can see all router input as live video before changing a route. Labels also appear below the live video so you can easily identify which input you are viewing. This means you can scroll through the router sources in alphabetical order and see each input as live video, even if the input has different video standards. Imagine browsing through your connections while viewing them as live video on the LCD screen. In racks where space is limited, visual routing allows you to see video input without adding an external SDI monitor.
All models of Blackmagic Videohub 12G feature advanced multi-speed 12G-SDI connections, so they support any SD, HD and Ultra HD video format up to 2160p60 and can connect to any SD, HD-SDI, 3G -SDI, 6G-SDI and 12G-SDI equipment. Additionally, Blackmagic Videohub 12G also supports routing any video standard simultaneously on the same router. This means that on the 80x80 model you can route up to 80 different video signals simultaneously to 80 outputs. 12G-SDI gives you high frame rate Ultra HD over a single BNC connection that can also be connected to all your regular HD equipment. With 12G-SDI you get future-proof technology that fits the equipment you have now and in the future.
Video Hub includes built-in SDI reclocking on each 12G-SDI input. SDI reclocking regenerates the video signal for maximum video quality. This is extremely important because longer video cables degrade the signal. Expensive premium "digital" cables can help a little, but still can't eliminate the loss of signal integrity caused by increasingly longer cable lengths. With SDI reclocking, all SDI devices in their studio receive a regenerated signal with improved jitter performance. That means longer cable lengths and no dropouts in their video.
All Blackmagic Videohub routers can be controlled remotely, which is vital in large broadcast studios where the equipment connected to the router is located in different parts of the building. There are 2 different types of hardware panels available. The Videohub Master Control Pro is similar to the front panel and has a rotary knob, LCD and shortcut keys. While the Videohub Smart Control Pro model has all the buttons and is generally programmed so that the panel controls a single router output, with each button programmed for a router input. Then you can just flick past the panel buttons to instantly change the router output. It works best if you install a smart panel under each video monitor.
If you need remote router control that is affordable, Videohub Software Control is perfect as it can be downloaded for free. Videohub Software Control is available for both Mac and Windows, so you can use it on the computers you already use for creative work. The software has large buttons that are easy to press. Each button can be customized to have a router input and a router output, and is assigned an icon so you can visually identify it. The large buttons are ideal for use on a touchscreen PC, turning the software into a large screen XY control panel. You can even download a version of the software for the Apple iPad.
