SWIT S-1071F 7-inch SDI/HDMI Waveform On-camera LCD Monitor

The SWIT S-1071F 7" On-Camera Monitor incorporates a 7" FFS (Fringe Field Switching) LCD panel with a 1024 x 600 resolution, 900:1 contrast ratio, and 400 cd/m² brightness with an LED backlight. A variety of monitoring features includes waveform, audio meters, and front and back tally lights.

FFS is an advanced technology that provides for wide viewing angles while allowing for superior performance and high image quality. Although at 160°, the viewing angle of this monitor is not the highest it could be, and this is due to the monitor being designed with its screen sunk into the frame.

The S-1071F offers a comprehensive array of connections on the rear panel. It features dual HD/SD-SDI inputs and loop-through outputs, HDMI input and loop-through output, a separate SDI output for built-in HDMI to SDI conversion, CVBS input on BNC, and a 9-pin tally input. There's also a 3.5mm headphone jack on the front. The monitor has a 4-pin XLR port for power, and supports Gold Mount and V-Mount battery plates (models S-7005A and S-7005S), as well as snap-on DV plates (models S-7004F/P/J/C/U/E/B/V), all available separately from SWIT.

There are 1/4"-20 mounting threads on the bottom, left, and right. You can also use the optional S-7360 dual monitor stand to mount two S-1071F monitors on cranes. As part of the Luxury Package, many accessories are supplied with the monitor. You get a power adapter, shoe mount, sun hood, screen protection film, HDMI and D-Tap-to-XLR cables, an extension arm trestle, and a carrying case. The sun hood secures with thumbscrews from the sides or can be attached using optional touch fasteners.

A lineup of front panel controls includes three assignable function buttons, waveform and vectorscope buttons, a volume dial, and more.

Built-In HDMI to SDI Conversion

A separate SDI output is available for broadcasting the HDMI to SDI conversion signal. It supports up to 1080p30.

SDI & HDMI Waveform Display

The waveform can be displayed for both SDI and HDMI signals. It includes YCbCr and RGB channels, and full-scale display of each channel. Vectorscope and RGB histogram can be switched on and off independently of the waveforms.

SDI & HDMI Audio Meter

The monitor displays SDI and HDMI embedded audio level meters, and supports full 16-channel meters for an HD-SDI input, and two channels for SD-SDI or HDMI input. The audio meter is green, turns yellow when it exceeds -20dB, and red when exceeding -9dB. The channel 1 and channel 2 embedded audio can be output via the 3.5mm headphone jack.

Focus Assist

In Focus Assist mode, the subject in focus will be sketched out by red or blue lines. This feature is also available during image zoom-in.

User-Editable Video Title

You can edit a video title for the current camera, and the title will display on top of the screen.

Three-Color Tally Light

"Live" signals are provided to people in front of the camera, and also to the camera operator.
