Het repertoire van Tom Habes (Optical Image) biedt onder de naam Soundart Productions een rijke collectie achtergrond en sfeermuziek. De geijkte problemen bij muziekkeuze (te bekend, al elders gebruikt, niet de juiste sfeer, te lang, te kort, te overheersend, juist te veel muzak, of te duur) kom je bij deze collectie nauwelijks tegen. De CD-A tracks op de CD's zijn gemakkelijk op titel of sfeer te traceren, staan er in meerdere lengtes/variaties op en de CD's zijn vriendelijk geprijsd.

Tom Habes (48) begon als technicus in de tele-communicatie en professionele audio. In 1986 begon hij met componeren, sterk beïnvloed door filmmuziek, en bracht sindsdien diverse succesvolle soundtrack-achtige CD's uit. In 1996 begon hij met zijn 'Library Music', CD's die speciaal gecomponeerd zijn voor gebruik in film- en TV- producties.In Nederland is bijvoorbeeld de muziek bij Netwerk van zijn hand, zijn werk is ook te horen in programma's als '2 Vandaag', 'Peter R. de Vries', 'de Week van Willibrord', 'Vermist', etcetera. In huiselijke kring zijn de CD's vrij te gebruiken. Voor TV-productie of gebruik bij presentaties moeten royalty's betaald worden. De CD's zijn exclusief te koop bij Videoholland en worden uit voorraad geleverd. Van de CD's is een a-selectieve keuze gemaakt (track 1, 2 en 3) om een aantal fragmenten te beluisteren. De fragmenten zijn met hoge compressie gemaakt en dus is de geluidskwaliteit niet representatief, het is slechts om een indruk te krijgen. |
